The Canadian Quarter Horse Association (CQHA) is committed to creating innovative, inclusive, and accessible opportunities for our Amateur and Select Amateur members across the country.
Based on the feedback we’ve received and the busy nature of the summer show season, we’ve made the decision to reschedule the inaugural CNAVC to Spring 2026. This change will give us the chance to grow awareness, increase participation, and deliver the best possible experience for competitors, sponsors, and our wider Quarter Horse community.
By moving the CNAVC to spring, we’ll be able to:
✅ Provide more time for exhibitors to prepare and participate
✅ Build on the excitement with expanded promotion and outreach
✅ Showcase our incredible sponsors and their support on a bigger stage
This adjustment isn’t a step back—it’s a step forward in making sure the CNAVC launches as a truly national celebration of Canadian Amateur talent.
We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors and supporters for standing behind this initiative, and we look forward to working with you all to make the Spring 2026 CNAVC an event to remember.
Stay tuned for more updates, opportunities to get involved, and ways you can help us shape this exciting new chapter for CQHA members across Canada.

About the The 2025 CQHA Canadian National Amateur Virtual Championship
In line with CQHA’s mission to provide beneficial services that enhance and encourage Quarter Horse ownership and participation across Canada, we are proud to introduce the first-ever Canadian National Amateur Virtual Championship (CNAVC).
This new event addresses one of Canada’s most significant equestrian barriers: geography. A traditional in-person national show isn’t always feasible in a country this vast. With the CNAVC, CQHA is providing a platform for Amateurs and Select Amateurs aged 50+ to compete nationally, virtually, and affordably.
From August 15 to September 15, 2025, competitors will submit unedited videos in twelve judged classes. All entries will be assessed by an official AQHA judge and showcased via Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show. Class winners—and their sponsors—will be spotlighted nationally.
The following performance classes will be offered:
- Amateur & Select Amateur Showmanship
- Amateur & Select Amateur Horsemanship
- Amateur & Select Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation
- Amateur & Select Amateur Reining
- Amateur & Select Amateur Ranch Riding
- Amateur & Select Amateur Western Riding
With an affordable entry fee of $50 per class and a $300 class sponsorship model, the CNAVC is designed to celebrate talent, foster participation, and bring our community together online.
