The CQHA aims to support, promote, and develop the country’s Quarter Horse community through national programs such as :

THE GRANT PROGRAM

Our annual grant program provides financial support to events having the potential to encourage the expansion of the AQHA/CQHA membership, the marketing of the American Quarter Horse, the understanding and protection of the breed, as well as the discovery of the American Quarter Horse’s many talents.

CANADIAN BRED AWARDS

Launched in 2022, the Canadian Bred Awards Program recognizes Canadian Bred registered Quarter Horses who excel in their disciplines at events across Canada. Event hosts can apply annually to present one of these awards at their event. Winners receive a presentation cheque for $250.00 and a remembrance token.

The CQHA Horse of Merit program

Presented in partnership with Ace Therapy Canada, CQHA’s official independent BEMER partner, the Horse of Merit program recognizes matured quarter horses, fifteen years of age and older as of January first, who are still active participants in the industry. through competition, lesson & schooling programs, community services and on-farm/ranching operations, or enjoying a much-deserved retirement following a successful competitive or reproductive career.

Horses receiving the honour are presented with an official certificate of commendation and a specially minted medal of merit.

YOUTH WORLD CUP / TEAM CANADA

CQHA oversees the organization and assembly of Team Canada for the biennial American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup competition. This educational and leadership-focused competition brings together young people from around the world. They showcase their skills in a friendly competitive environment while learning from each other and top professionals in the industry..

YOUTH & AMATEUR ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE

CQHA has established a Youth and Amateur Activities Committees They aim to create national opportunities for youth and amateurs to advance their horsemanship skills and equestrian knowledge. Watch CQHA’s social media for news, programs, events, and upcoming contests.
