Mid-Western Ontario Horseman’s Society Show

The Mid-Western Ontario Horseman’s Society was formed in 1977 to provide a standardized rule book for Open Shows in south-western Ontario within a 60 mile radius of Elginfield, Ontario, offer a Year End Awards Program and a newsletter to keep the membership informed of shows and other events.

The August 7 & 8 MWHS shows have $500 prize money each day sponsored by Canadian Quarter Horse Association(CQHA) paid out in 6 Senior classes. The classes will run concurrent with the MWHS class.

To be eligible exhibitors must submit a copy of the horse’s AQHA papers and AQHA membership. There is no extra entry fee (must enter corresponding MWHS class) but there is a $3 CQHA office fee and the CQHA classes being entered must be listed on the entry form. Anyone who is an AQHA member is eligible to also be a CQHA member at no extra cost.

  The MWHS Shows are eligible events for Ontario Quarter Horse Racing Industry Development Program Post Racing Bonus Application.

En 2021, un certificat de vaccination contre le Rhino (herpès virus équins) et l’influenza sera exigé pour chaque cheval participant aux événements sanctionnés par Cheval Québec (compétitions, rassemblements, etc.)

Pour tous les événements équestres, le certificat devra indiquer le nom officiel du cheval utilisé pendant l’événement ainsi que la date d’administration du vaccin.

Le rappel de vaccin devra avoir été administré au cheval depuis plus de 7 jours avant la date de participation à l’événement.

Tous les concurrents demeurant au Québec devront avoir une carte de membre Cheval Québec, pour les assurances.

In 2021, a certificate of vaccination against Rhino (equine herpes virus) and influenza will be required for each horse participating in events sanctioned by Cheval Québec (competitions, gatherings, etc.)

For all equestrian events, the certificate must indicate the official name of the horse used during the event as well as the date of administration of the vaccine.

The vaccine booster must have been administered to the horse for more than 7 days before the date of participation in the event.

All competitors residing in Quebec must have a Cheval Quebec membership card for insurance.
