This was the Lower Mainland Quarter Horse Association's second annual AQHA trail ride. attracting 30 riders which doubled the previous year's numbers. Riders checked in at 12 noon on Friday and enjoyed breakfast Saturday & Sunday, Roast Beef dinner Saturday with live music. They rode to a home town Cider House, with beautiful views of the lake and the river and the historical ranching community.

Hidden Valley Rustic Horse Camp nestled in the heartland of the Thompson Okanogan, near Merritt, British Columbia. Beautiful trails and spectacular scenery are located in the heart of the Nicola Valley, 271 km. northeast of Vancouver. The Nicola Valley's landscape varies dramatically, from the wind-blasted cliffs of Windy Canyon near Merritt, to the glacial shore-lines of ancient lakes and the rolling grasslands lining Highway 5A.  With such a diverse environment, an abundance of wildlife and vegetation flourish throughout the Nicola Valley. Bears, deer, and moose are found throughout the region, while elk and mountain goats are less common. The forests surrounding Merritt harbour a wide variety of tree species from lodgepole pine, Engelmann spruce, subalpine fir in the highlands to Douglas fir, and ponderosa pine in the benchlands.
